Gift Card Holder Folder

Quick post! Made this gift card holder folder cause I'm always in search to make my gift cards a bit more personal since buying someone a gift card isn't the most personal gift one can give. I can never have too many gift card holders and when I saw this, I thought it was oh so adorable. I will post a tutorial which you can find anywhere on the web but if you're too lazy to search as I am at times I will post a tutorial. LMK otherwise I will not post the tutorial...LOL! It's late and I've been running around town today and had an unexpected appointment which threw my schedule off completely! Here it is as usual thanks for stopping by! Aloha!

Bad News

For those who wanted to buy a Sweetie and haven't, I'm sorry to inform you that I will no longer sell the Sweeties via digital format. I was informed today by Mindy that since she's a designer for DD that she has signed a contract to sell her digital creations only through them. And because Mindy's not selling them on their website she feels it's best that we discontinue selling them digitally. However, the rubber stamps are still a go and as soon as I find a manufacturer to produce them I will let you know! I'm sorry for those that have missed the opportunity to buy them (had plans to discontinue the digital format once they became rubberized anyways) but fear not, they will be out in rubbah soon! (^o^)

Digital Scrapbook Class and a card

Aloha! Man did this weekend fly by or what? I didn't get to craft much like I had planned but what can I do? I did manage to change my blog background and banner and ugh, it can be a pain sometimes!!! Don't you hate it when you know how to do something and you've done it a million times and yet when it's time to do it again, it doesn't always goes as planned? Anyhow I used Mindy's newest kit for my blogwear. What do you think? OK? LOL! Speaking of Mindy's kit and digital...I met ManLe of Pineapple Cove (new scrapbook store at Kahala Mall) and she and I got to talking and we're thinking of having some beginners digital scrapbooking class. How many of my blog sisters are interested? Leave a comment or email me. Let me know what you want to learn and what experiences you have as far as digital scrapbooking. Sounds good? I'm excited for this new venture. Oh and for those that loves Mindy's kits, I have gotten permission from her to use her kits for the classes. Classes won't start until August. ManLe and I are still discussing it and I want to get a feel for what people want to learn.

OK, onto my card. Really, really simple card! I got a beautiful card from Teri of Big Ideas from a Little Girl (I got to remember to post it!) and I lifted it! Little Tea House Kit by Mindy Terasawa

As promised here are Mindy's latest kit called Little Tea House (avail this coming Sunday at DD). This kit is perfect for Tea Party invitations (we have many of them in California!) and I believe there may be a few places here in HI that holds them. Or for girlie birthday parties!!! I already know what I'll be making with these, can't wait! I'm also including the kit that came out a couple of weeks ago called School Daze. I know school is out for most of your kids and it's too late but for those that are year round maybe this kit will come to good use. I got these goodies from Michelle of Mushi's Creative Inspiration. She's such a sweet person and so happy to have met her through this wonderful world of Blogland! Her card is gorgeous especially in IRL!!! The butterfiles and flowers all have glitter on it! So, so pretty!!!! Love it!! I also got the Magnolia stamp which is my first one!!! Yeay!! I have some stamp images from friends but this is my first one...woohoo! Thank you Michelle!!! Happy Hump Day!

Sorry for the short entries these last few days! I've been so busy with work and appointments. And to top it off my dh signed us up for golf lessons...ugh! LOL! I've always wanted to take them but this week has been busy and been going to the hospital (no worries just wanted to get something checked) for the last two days and I was just so not in the mood. Another reason why I was a bit hesitant cause I have no hand-eye coordination so I thought it would be a waste of time...but needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed it! I missed hitting the ball here and there but I got quite a few ones out there...woo hoo! LOL! OK, thanks for letting me get that out! haha!

On to today's creation. The tote is from PTI and I had bought it when it first came out and am just now using it. Been dying to make it but didn't have anyone to give it to until now...LOL! I love it and want to make more. But I'm the type of person who only makes 3D type stuff only if I have someone to give it to. I would hate to make one and just have it sit around my craft area collecting dust waiting for a good home. So I usually make them when needed and thankfully I had someone to give it to. This is to one of my blog sisters who's super sweet. I hope she likes it.

I actually made the tote first and after I put it all together I realized that HK was white...I should have made her tan. Lets just say Miss Hello Kitty was visiting from Japan and she was super white and now that she's been here for a few days she's gotten her tan on (^o^) LOL! Corny I know!

OK now onto my tip on printing digi papers. Now I'm pretty sure that most of you print 8.5 x 11 right? You open the the DP and crop at 8.5 x11. Then you open the next DP and do the same and so on and so fourth. You probably don't use the whole sheet and left w/scraps that you probably save for later (but most of us know you don't always go back to use them). So here's how I do it and I've been able to save my ink. What I do it open up four of the DP I want to print. Then I crop each to 4.25x5.5. Once I got all four DP cropped, I then transfer them onto an 8.5x11 sheet. So basically I have four DP on one 8.5x11 paper. I don't have to print out all four DP individually. So finally when I print, I go to my settings and choose "borderless paper" which prints on the entire sheet. Check your printer settings and look around for these settings, they may be worded differently but do the same thing. So there you have it! BTW, the paper I used in yesterday's post is from Nancy Kubo. Come back later or tomorrow as I will give you some tips on printing your digital papers to help save on ink. I see a lot of post saying how printing the digi papers eats up your ink.

Dahlia for Cadence

(^o^) I made this card very quickly for my bff's other daughter since I made her sister a card I thought I'd make her one also. I used the Dahlia image because she reminds me of a "Wild" one...LOL! Also used the same LO as this.

OK, I know not too many men come on my blog...heck, I'm not even sure my dh visits it...but I thought I'd post the card I made for him from our doggie since we have no kids yet. Here's what it says on the inside:

Twilight

Aloha everyone! It's Friday! That means I take Sat and Sun off of work stuff! Woo hoo! LOL! OK, I don't know why I'm all happy...I'm exhausted right now (it;s 3:00 AM!), been working on a few things and still need to fill orders for Sweeties. Sorry ladies, I promise I'll have them to you ASAP! Just got tons on my plate and haven't been feelin' well still... (@_@)

Anyhow, I made this card for my GOD daughter. I have to get her package out so she can get it before her trip! Like me, she's a big Twilight fan and I figured since I'm sending her a bunch of Twilight stuff that I'd make a card...hmmm, I thinkin' if I have time to make her a bookmark! She'll love that! LOL! OK, I'm adding more to my plate... OK, sorry for going on and on...here's my card, TFS!

A card I made for my friend (I will not name her until after she gets this...LOL). Just a thank you card for all she's given me and for being a great friend. Another simple card. And yeah, I know the hair coloring isn't as great as the one I did previous to this one (which I'll make a card outta later)...actually did several cause I kept changing the DP papers. Forgive me as I have not been feelin' too well (@_@) (it has caused me to me very unmotivated right now). Anyhow, TFS!!

Father's Day Card 2

Here's my second Father's Day Card for my dad. I decided to make this way more simpler than the other (yeah, I know the other was pretty simple). I figure men aren't too hung up on cards and crafty stuff and always find that sometimes simple is the best. I am racing with time to get these cards and gifts out to our father's who are both on the mainland so I need to mail them off today! Yeah, I'm laggin'!

Oh yeah, I was lucky enough to meet Emeril Lagasse, on Sunday. Thanks to our NEX (Navy Exchange). Unfortunately the NEX wouldn't let us take personal pictures with him so I got one of me talking to him and the other while standing right in front of where he was signing. I'll spare you and just post a pic of him. Enjoy and as always thanks for stopping by!

Father's Day Card 1

Happy Aloha Friday everyone! I decided to make a new set of Father's Day card since I thought that the one I made previous was better for my BIL. Plus I love this Ian I used for this card. However I'm a bit annoyed how this card turned out cause it seems that all the DP blended too well oppose to standing out like I imagined. Hopefully I'll get it right on my second Father's Day card. Reminiscing ...

I haven't had time to work on anything crafty lately. I've been busy running errands and doing stuff around the house. Hopefully that'll change today! Especially since I should be getting my the new 2009 - 2010 Stampin' UP! Idea Book and Catalog! Can't wait!

Anyhow, I was going through my personal blog and found these set of pictures. These pictures were taken in Feb 07. I loved when it snowed , it was never too much, just right! I'm sure dh didn't think so especially when he had to go into work (^o^). Anyhow, the one year death anniversary of my baby Avery is coming up at the end of the month so I thought I'd post pictures of him from now until the anniversary. I still get sad and teary eye whenever I think of him (which is every night). What a great dog he was and how much he's left a big hole in our hearts (*o*). I'm gonna stop it at here or else I won't be able to continue typing this post.

Blk & White Challenge

I decided to participate in the Blk & White Challenge that Marie's having, which ends tonight, so if you want to participate, do it now! LOL! Here's my take on the sketch and color theme:

Sorry folks, I've been making my cards/projects late at night that when I post, I don't have time or forget to post the links or the supplies. So let me do so now...

I used a combination of DP from Nancy Kubo's and Mindy Terasawa's kit. Nancy's kit was a mini kit that was given free at one point...I tried a search but couldn't find it...I do believe that it has expired. However if I find it and it's not expired I will post a link to it. Mindy's kit is called Noir et Blanc and you can find it at DD.

Basically I just stamped my image (Dress Me set) on a 3.5 white CS, colored her with my gray Copics (I believed I used a combination of C3 and C7), added Martha Stewart glitter and then started to layer with Mindy, Nancy's and black CS. Tied a black SU! ribbon on the side and stamped the "Fabulous Friend" (Oval All stamp set) onto white CS, punched it out with SU! Large Oval punch and then punched out black CS with SU!'s Scallop punch. That's it! HTH! As usual thanks for stopping by!

Hula Sweetie - Crayon Holder

The person who originally created this called it a Crayon Holder, however I did not use this to hold crayons. Instead I used this holder to hold images that I will be sending out to a friend. I got this from Tammy's blog (who I totally lifted design wise cause it's too late and I'm still in a creative rut) who then linked to the original poster...click on Tammy's blog for tutorial and while you're there check out Tammy's great creations! Finally got the Sweetie outlined. It took me awhile but I've done it. I still think I need to tweak a few things but wanted to create something with her. Still researching a few manufacturers and as soon as I find one that fits, the Sweeties will be produce into rubber stamps. Can't wait! Any who, here's my card for this Aloha Friday! TFS!

A Hui Hou

A while back my dh's cousin asked us to make a card for her brother who was heading to protect our country. I believe she was asking for a picture but I decided to make a card...I'm sure he did not want a picture of me and my dh so I may a card of all of us when we went to NYC. Along with this card my dh wrote his cousin a heartfelt letter. I'm not sure if he wants me to post so for now I will not post it. Anyhow, this was what I came up with. Again we were in NYC eating at Max Brenners (if you haven't been YOU HAVE TO GO!). Best dessert place I've been. We not only ordered dessert but breakfast...DELISH! TFS!

In the meantime...

So my creative block may be just towards creating cards cause I was having fun making these cute little purses/boxes (not really sure what to call them). I started off using the Fairest of them All (Imaginicse) but it was too small for what I needed it for. So I used same concept for the next purse/box except I did not enclose it. That should sum up how I've been feelin' lately. I mean, I've had plenty ideas but lately when I try to put my cards together they're not what I had in mind. I'm thinking I have a bit of a creative block going on right now and thinking maybe I should take a few days off of creating. I mean the card below isn't bad, but really, it isn't that great either. I'd like to say that I was rushing to make this grad card since my dh's going to the mainland and I lagged as usual...but I seriously doubt that's the case (OK, well it could have contributed).
